BASED IN DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA
+ TORONTO, ONTARIO
I'm Katy. My parents put a film camera in my hand when I was 3 to photograph the day my brother was born & came home from the hospital. I've loved photography ever since.
I use both digital and analog cameras. I'm originally self-taught, but have taken both digital and film processing courses through Ryerson University's Chang School in Toronto. Film slows me down and continues to teach me to be more patient....more observant. I currently use my Canon AE-1, Pentax Spotmatic, and Canon 5D-Markiii.
I shoot weddings, engagements, family sessions, and brands across Canada. I also shoot candid, street-style, photo-documentary 35mm photos & often print them for friends. I hope to photograph for the rest of my life. It's a meditative process. It's incredibly grounding for me.
